This afternoon Christos and myself tried to get some pictures of a gadget bulb in a dark room. Although we spent some time for a few photos, the results are worthy. Here we go!

Photo of the day - Luma Tower

You can see Luma Tower when you crossing M8, from Glasgow International Airport to the City Center. You can see the building on your left hand side which is illuminated with blue and green colours. Luma tower was build in 1938 by by Cornelius Armour and it was used as the Glasgow Headquarters of the British Luma Co-operative Lamp Co. The tower was used to test lamps which illuminate the surrounding area. In 1996 the building converted to 54 residential flats. (Source)

This is a night shot I took back in October and because of the light pollution the results were not that great but with some post processing it looks more attractive.

Tabblo

Tabblo is yet another photo sharing site, like many others. However, I fancy it a lot as it seems simple and free like most of the sites of this kind. As it is described in the home page, you can use Tabblo to:

  • Share your photos online
  • Create your poster
  • Create your postcard
  • Create your book

What I fancy most in the entire story is the poster stuff. I presume that it is not only Tabblo which offers such a feature, but I find it interesting. All you need to do is just upload a bunch of photos and you create your Tabblo, which is a poster that you would consider it as a small photo album. A Tabblo may be one or more photos, accompanied with comments. Some already built templates are provided, which make things easier and more exciting. You can also modify those templates and customise the size and the position of the photos included.

Some Tabblo users also like to have a group of nice photos targeted to a historical subject, having comments and descriptions with educational background, making this interaction even more interesting.

You can visit Tabblo to explore all the features and capabilities. As an example see below My Tabblos posted so far.
