Sony Bravia Part II

November 23rd, 2006 by Christos

A while ago Kostakiss wrote a post for the advertisement of Sony Bravia commercial, filmed in San Francisco. The successor of the “Bouncing Balls” advert is filmed in Glasgow. Take a look at the commercial here.

According to Sony, 70,000 litres of paint exploded across the empty multi-storey high rise building. BBC also adds that after filming the commercial, 60 people for five days were cleaning all that mesh, but they did not bother to clean the building itself. This is because its demolition using controlled explosives was scheduled for Sunday 3rd of December, however this day is now postponed till 21st of January 2007.

The company which will preform the demolition is called SafeDem, more details regarding the location of the building and its demolition can be found here.

I am looking forward to watching this advertisement on tv! As I have lived in Glasgow for a year, I think that it’s going to be interesting to see places that I have been before!

Personally, I am ashamed because I have seen this ad, 2-3 times and still I didn’t recognise that it was in Glasgow, although last year I had a nice view of Glasgow’s cityscape, from my balcony. Also I though that the paint was computer generated but not.

    Shame on you!
